The Los Angeles chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association is seeking proposals for in-depth reporting projects that explore health equity issues that affect the Asian American community.
This fellowship is open to professional journalists, but priority will be given to the following applicants:
AAJA-LA chapter members
CCNMA: Latino Journalists of California, NABJLA and NAHJLA chapter members
Freelance/Independent journalists
Journalists with two years of professional experience
Journalists who attend AAJA-LA health equity programming events
Journalists with a track record of producing larger scale projects
Fellows will receive:
$2,500 reporting grant
Three months of mentorship
Assistance in placing the story in a publication*

Description of project proposal, including a community engagement component (up to 750 words)
What story/stories will you deliver at the end of this program?
Bio (no more than 100 words) and headshot
A response to the following prompt: Why are you the best person to tell this story? (up to 500 words)
Budget proposal
Resumé
Reference letter
Links to three work samples
