If so, we may have the job for you. New York Cannabis Insider has fast become the state's leading newsroom dedicated to covering all aspects of the emerging cannabis marketplace. Our small but nimble cannabis team at Advance Media New York regularly breaks statewide news, produces investigative reporting, synthesizes and makes public complicated data, highlights industry players who are seeking to make a positive impact on their communities, and hosts New York's most educational and engaging conferences around the state. We're looking for a seasoned reporter to help us continue to build our brand and escalate our impact. You do not need to have a background in cannabis reporting for this job. Instead, candidates need to show a history of producing in-depth, well-researched and well-written stories and a passion for diving in where no one else is looking. Additional skills that come highly valued are: audio/radio/podcasting experience, a background in producing newsletters, experience running a newsroom's social media accounts, and a knowledge of web production.  Though this is a general assignment position, the reporter will also maintain a focus on two distinct arenas of New York's cannabis ecosystem: social justice and the state's medical marijuana program.
