Corporate Communications’ primary responsibility is to protect and enhance AIG’s reputation and valuation. They deliver in-house “agency” services from a multidisciplined team with extensive experience in strategic advisory and integrated execution services for reputation-critical corporate activities. Capabilities include creating issues/response scenario plans to outline potential messaging and internal response structures for possible issues; developing narrative/key messages and engagement strategy that best positions AIG with key stakeholders, internally and externally; coordinating stakeholder interactions to build support for AIG position, and where appropriate, call stakeholders to action; developing social/digital engagement strategy and supporting content that amplifies narrative/key messages across platforms; advising on appropriate level of engagement based on relevance/source of commentary, real-time issues monitoring and qualitative measurement; tracking engagement with messaging on social platforms and identify areas for adjustment, as needed; deploying strategy to communicate with colleagues across businesses, functions and geographies, building support and understanding for AIG position/actions; minimize distractions; mobilizing employees, as appropriate, to amplify key messages; and measuring employee sentiment as a guide for effectiveness of communications strategy and messaging.
