Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) seeks an organized Communications Associate with excellent project management, communication and administrative skills, and a strong attention to detail. This role is part of AIUSA’s Marketing and Communications (MarComms) team, which advances the organization’s mission by engaging members, activists, policy makers and others to inspire and influence action through compelling strategy, storytelling and tactics. This position reports to the National Director, Marketing & Communications. This role handles confidential and sensitive matters.
This role is a union position and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Local 1180.
Essential Responsibilities
Project Coordination (70%)
Manage the MarComms department calendar of events, activities, team schedules and prepares written communications as needed for such engagements
Creates processes and systems to support collaboration among units in the department and across the organization. This may include using project management software and other internal communications tools
Assist with research and writing across digital media channels as needed
Assist in the onboarding of new hires and interns with Human Resources
Manage and support communication with vendors and partners on behalf of the organization and the MarComms department
Keep abreast of current and ongoing advances in digital technology tools, industry-related events, and innovations in information dissemination, social media planning, and project management
Administrative Support (20%)
Coordinate internal communication between the MarComms team and other units within AIUSA
Maintain MarComms departments files and supports content organization in AIUSAs Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform
Monitor the MarComms budget and prepares and submits invoices and expense reports for department
Uplift and center AIUSAs Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) principles in their work and the MarComms team effort
Other duties as assigned
