The Media Production Specialist facilitates the production and printing of AOPA’s award-winning magazines and associated media. They will work closely with colleagues and vendors to correct errors in layouts, prepare and transmit files to AOPA’s printer, and prepare digital editions of the magazines. Additionally, the Media Production Specialist produces newsletters to promote magazine content to AOPA members and manages payments for magazine contributors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Production Coordination (85%)
Reviews and processes files to ensure their suitability for the printer
Coordinates with contributors and editorial staff to ensure corrections are made promptly
Facilitates the review of PDFs in review/approval software
Coordinates with the printer to ensure pages are posted promptly and accurately
Prepares files for the digital editions in coordination with the art team
Produces AOPA’s digital edition newsletters
Produces AOPA’s Flight School Business newsletter and associated online content, working with the editorial staff to meet deadlines
Administrative (15%)
Posts digital-only content from AOPA’s publications team to AOPA.org
Processes payments for contracted writers and contributors
Other duties as assigned
