What will you be doing?
This is a key role in helping run the daily operations for the Americas metals editorial team, spanning price assessments, news reporting, editing, report production, adherence to compliance policies, market engagement and team coordination and collaboration across Argus offices globally. Working closely with the Americas metals Editor, the Deputy Editor ensures day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.
This position will have a dedicated metals market to cover, depending on prior experience and team need, but will also be expected to cross-train and learn processes across other markets covered by the Americas team. This position will attend relevant industry conferences to build source networks and make external presentations as necessary.
The position also assists the Editor in the hiring process and ensuring adequate team staffing around vacations and sick leave.
What we’re looking for in you:
The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, economics, business, history or relevant field.
Demonstrated reporting, writing and goal-oriented collaboration skills, with strong diplomatic, analytical and problem-solving ability.
Experience covering physical commodity markets, with management experience helpful.
A commitment to the highest level of accuracy and completing all writing within established deadlines.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with particular experience in Excel.
