Associate Editor/Senior Reporter, Oil Products (Bitumen) – Asia

New Posted 24 October 2023 | Singapore, Singapore | Argus Media Group

We are looking for a driven, passionate, and resourceful Senior Reporter / Associate Editor to join our editorial team in Singapore to cover bitumen, a by-product of crude oil. Bitumen has many industrial applications and is commonly used in the construction industry, notably for roads and highways.

The successful candidates will join our global network of over 600 dedicated journalists to connect deeply with the markets they cover, delivering expert news, analysis, and information unavailable elsewhere. We pride ourselves on analysing how and why news matter to our high-level audience, which comprises Fortune 500 companies, national oil and energy companies, multinationals, finance institutions, trading companies, and governments.

You will drive market coverage, news, and analysis of the bitumen markets across Asia. The successful applicant will manage/work with bitumen reporters in Asia and coordinate with editorial colleagues in Europe and the US. Being part of a small team also means there will be cross-training and plenty of opportunity to gain experience in other commodities markets and learn from our experienced Senior Reporters/Editors. In addition, there are opportunities to travel and present papers at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.

Monitor and assess fast-moving markets to produce daily price assessments, intelligence, market commentaries, news, analysis, and reports.
Engage with the industry to ensure a close understanding of market developments to ensure both methodology and the broader report remain relevant.
Proactively generate news leads and pitch stories, contribute copy to the relevant publication and the online news service, and offer contributions to special content (blog posts, white papers, webinars, podcasts, etc.).
Collaborate with colleagues on the desk and in other teams to enhance and drive coverage.
Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus in the industry.
Help to build and curate data sets that help explain market dynamics.
Help identify opportunities to expand Argus’ coverage of related market areas.
