Space Reporter

Ars Technica seeks a Space Reporter with expertise in spaceflight, including launch, in-space activities, space policy, astronomy, commercial space, human spaceflight, NASA, regulatory issues, international developments, and other activities in the rapidly expanding field. The Space Reporter will report to the Senior Space Editor and produce daily content including informed news and analysis, as well as features and the kind of in-depth explanatory articles that Ars Technica is known for. We are looking for a strong writer who can not only understand the changing world of spaceflight today, but identify what is really happening beneath the press releases and hype, and write fairly and boldly about these trends. A successful applicant should be able to write clean and compelling prose accessible to readers from a wide variety of technical backgrounds—and who can serve all of those readers well with analysis. This is a union position.
