Assistant Professor of Communication OR Instructor of Communication

Assistant Professor: Seeking a tenure-track communication assistant professor to teach a 4/4 load in undergraduate and graduate communication program. The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate communication major and help students in public speaking and media production classes, advise students, serve on committees, conduct research or creative activity, and perform other duties.

Typical Duties/Job Duties. Instructor: Seeking a communication instructor to teach a 5/5 load in undergraduate communication program. The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate communication major and help students in public speaking and media production classes, advise students, serve on committees, and perform other duties.

Assistant Professor: Teach undergraduate public speaking and broadcast video production courses such as electronic news gathering, beginning/advanced video production, sports broadcasting , and other courses related to broadcast video production. Department/University related service, advising undergraduate students, and scholarly or creative activity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. Instructor: Teach undergraduate public speaking and broadcast video production courses such as electronic news gathering, beginning/advanced video production, sports broadcasting, and other courses related to broadcast video production. Department/University related service and advising undergraduate students.

Assistant Professor: Experience in university teaching/mentorship and a record of scholarly or creative activity. Experience with shooting/editing video, Audio recording/editing , TV Broadcasting Experience, and Lighting Techniques for broadcast media. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro.

Minimum Qualifications. Instructor: Experience with shooting/editing video, Audio recording/editing, TV Broadcasting Experience, and Lighting Techniques for broadcast media. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro. Training and mentorship of students or colleagues.

Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Communication or a closely related field or MFA in Film and Media Studies or a closely related field (preferred); ABO (considered) in Communication or a closely related field from an institutionally accredited college or university (or equivalent); Must have 18 graduate hours in Communication courses completed at the start of appointment. Industry or Teaching experience in relevant fields.

Instructor: Master’s degree in Communication or a closely related field from an institutionally accredited college or university (or equivalent). Must have 18 graduate hours in Communication courses completed at the start of appointment. At least 1O years of broadcast journalism experience and ability to teach required courses.
