Associate Digital Editor, Virtual Events

The Smithsonian Institution is currently seeking an Associate Digital Editor, Virtual Events for Smithsonian Magazine in Washington DC. The Associate Editor will be responsible for managing live events and other editorial initiatives for the digital team of Smithsonian magazine. The job also involves writing, editing, supervising, producing and publishing editorial content for Smithsonianmag.com.
Live/Virtual Events:
Generate ideas and potential talent for virtual live events
Collaborate with colleagues across the Media division on the creation and execution of virtual live events, including talent management and editorial focus
Produce virtual live events through Zoom and be able to train, support and backfill colleagues on production duties
Develop new ideas for growing the virtual live events series beyond monthly programming, including social promotion
