Associate Editor

We are an award-winning community, weekly newspaper in the gorgeous northeast corner of Washington state, right on the Washington/Idaho border. Newport, Wash., and Priest River, Idaho, are quaint, friendly communities with lots going on. We cover two counties, four school districts, five cities, two states and a plethora of community events and organizations. We believe in accurate, reliable journalism and focus solely on our local communities. We pride ourselves on work-life balance and a fun work environment. We offer flexible hours, 401(k), a health insurance stipend, vacation, sick and holiday pay, and quite often snacks in the kitchen.

We're within an hour of Spokane, Wash., and 40 minutes from Sandpoint, Idaho.

Who we hope you are:

The perfect candidate is an experienced reporter/editor. That experience can be from either a journalism degree or work in the field, or both. Knowledge of AP style and competency in photography is required. InDesign/Photoshop knowledge and layout experience desired, but not required. We want you to learn our community, gain institutional knowledge of our beats, and be a long-term member of our team. Room to grow.
