We are seeking an Associate Editor to join our dynamic editorial department. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that is committed to creating superlative content for Virginia Living. The Associate Editor will serve and engage our readers through effective magazine and digital content and participate in the production of almost all aspects of Virginia Living's core printed and digital products—from planning, assigning, writing, copyediting, and proofreading. Regular writing assignments include stories of varying length in each issue, e-newsletters, social media posts, website content, collateral marketing materials and more. In addition, the associate editor will manage special projects.
Our ideal candidate is positive, outgoing, motivated, detail oriented, and highly adaptable. Specific skill sets the position requires include superior communication skills (written and verbal), knowledge of SEO optimization and social media strategies, project management, and knowledge of AP Style. The position of Associate Editor will assist, report to, and collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief.
