APMG's primary operating divisions Minnesota Public Radio, Southern California Public Radio and American Public Media offer multi-regional FM broadcast channels, website, mobile and social media channels, live events, national content creation and distribution. Your Role:

As an Associate Producer, you are a key member of the Classical production staff. Your role works with a highly collaborative production team, contributes to all aspects of program production and is at the center of the workflow and production processes.

In your role you will work to help create, develop, and manage the overall production workflow. This includes coaching production staff in using new workflow tools and regularly evaluating existing workflows. Daily responsibilities include show segment production and editing, directing in studio voice tracking and “as live” operations, promo production, and delivering audio and program information to distribution systems.

As the Associate Producer, in conjunction with the Sr. Producer and Technical Director, you are responsible for the daily technical production as well as supporting audio production training for Classical staff. Your role will collaborate with colleagues both within and outside of Classical and the Broadcast Operations department to ensure ongoing excellence in support of Classical’s strategic priorities.

Compensation Range: $22.70 - $27.20/hour. Exact hourly rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibility:

Support daily show production: direct voice tracking sessions, produce and assemble segments, and distribute for a national audience.
Assist in managing production workflow, processes, training, and evaluation for Pipedreams team.
Creatively choose and apply the use of sound, vocals, interviews, created and natural elements to regularly produce both engaging and professionally crafted radio, elements, and national program production.
Assist in the supervision and administration of content distribution systems for Pipedreams Content Depot episode creation, rundown, promos, and file delivery.
Participate in editorial planning, attending, and contributing ideas to content planning sessions
Assist in the Creation, production, and development of regular show segments/features as assigned.
Assist in directing the program, including creating rundowns, monitoring deadlines, writing/editing/formatting scripts and coordinating fixes.
Help coordinate, plan, and engineer field and remote productions.
Work with digital staff to streamline content to air and web processes.
Shared team duties maintaining production and planning calendars.
Shared team duties maintaining audience and constituent communication.
Shared team duties maintaining Pipedreams social media.
Establish and enforce clean and effective standard operating procedures and work with colleagues to train for and implement them.
Update and replace production elements library.
Assist in oversight of the design and implementation of professional production standards.
Work with other departments to remain up to date on all technical and content changes and modifications.
Creative use of microphones, microphone placement, mixing consoles, outboard equipment, and audio processing technology to ensure that the highest audio quality possible is delivered to MPR|APM audiences and clients.
