About the Role

The Melbourne newsroom is looking for an experienced journalist with a track record for breaking stories and delivering compelling digital content for a local and national audience. The role will be supported by the Digital Editor and the Bureau Leadership team and will involve:

Developing and fostering a network of contacts and sources to help deliver original content.
Writing stories that demonstrate highly advanced journalistic craft.
Maintaining a thorough understanding of current local and national news, events and issues.

About You

You are an accomplished journalist with experience working in a news environment and a thorough understanding of online news, including social media and methods of online content distribution and engagement. The successful candidate will also have the following skills:

Proven track record of breaking stories and delivering original news content.
Thorough knowledge of Victorian issues and events.
Meticulous writing skills with an ability to produce fast and accurate copy of the highest standard.
A collaborative team-centred workstyle.
