About the Role

The Hobart newsroom has a vacancy for an experienced multi-platform journalist to deliver engaging Tasmanian stories for local and national audiences.

We’re looking for a reporter to generate high-value digital, video and audio content and work collaboratively with teams across the newsroom and the ABC.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Tasmanian stories and audiences on digital and social platforms, and demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills.

About You
You're an experienced multi-platform news reporter, with a track record of generating original stories and covering breaking news.

You'll also be able to demonstrate:

A strong understanding of Tasmanian issues and events
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
A good understanding of social media, in particular its use as a newsgathering and storytelling tool
Well-developed media production skills
Confidence using a variety of software, production systems and reporting tools
