About The Role

The ABC’s News Team is looking for a reporter to be based in Tamworth, and become part of the dynamic team at ABC New England North West for 18 months. Your role will be to create quality news content and to meet changing coverage and content requirements across all platforms.

You Will

Break news stories
Create accurate, concise and clear stories across multiple platforms.
Present radio news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages.
Prepare content for television, social media and digital platforms.
Actively identify news content that could travel to other content areas across the ABC.
Liaise with the Local Editor and team regarding all content.
Assist with stories that could be run in state and national bulletins and online.

About You

You will be a journalist with editorial skills and experience with breaking news and generating original stories in a daily news environment.

You Will Also Have

Well-developed cross-platform production skills in radio, television, digital, video, and social media.
An understanding of local issues, a connection with Indigenous communities will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated understanding and passion to source and create authentic content.
Current valid driver's license with flexibility to travel to cover a story.
