About the Role
The ABC’s News Team is looking for a reporter to be based in Tamworth, and become part of the dynamic team at ABC New England North West. Your role will be to create quality news content and to meet changing coverage and content requirements across all platforms.
You will:
Break news stories.
Drive a digital-first approach by developing new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
Create accurate, concise and clear stories across multiple platforms.
Produce and present radio news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages.
Create content for multiple platforms to engage local and national audiences.
Actively identify and develop news content that could travel to other content areas across the ABC.
Assist with stories that could be run in state and national bulletins and online.
About You
You will be an experienced journalist with well-developed editorial skills and advanced experience breaking news and generating original stories in a daily news environment.
You will also have:
Well-developed cross-platform production skills in radio, television, digital, video, and social media.
An understanding of local issues with a connection with Indigenous communities.
Demonstrated understanding and passion to source and create authentic content.
A collaborative workstyle with an ability to encourage and support and upskill the team.
Current valid driver's license with flexibility to travel to cover a story.
