The ABC’s Audio News and Current Affairs team is looking for a senior reporter/producer to join its Sydney-based team. You will provide news-breaking, quality journalism on a daily basis, high quality audio content under tight deadlines for broadcast and digital platforms, present stories and programs to very high broadcast standards, produce flagship radio/podcast programs, provide editorial guidance and mentorship to journalists and help ensure strong coverage of news and issues of local and national importance to a very large listening audience. The successful applicant will provide national coverage of major, highly relevant news and CAFF stories, on a daily basis, to our Audio News and Current Affairs platforms, including national news bulletins, AM/The World Today/PM and our on-demand News Stream. You will also be required to perform senior leadership duties, including producing programs, commissioning journalists, providing editorial guidance and maintaining very high broadcast standards at all times. You may on occasion, be asked to present programs and podcasts on an as-needs basis and depending on broadcast experience. To enable this multi-faceted role, you will be based in Sydney where our support teams output live programming on a daily basis. There will be shift work and weekend work.
