About the Role
Join our busy Port Macquarie news team as a Reporter to create news content across all platforms that align with ABC strategy and supports the achievement of News's objectives.
Under direction of the Editor, and in collaboration with colleagues, your duties will include the following:
Create content for multiple platforms to engage local and national audiences.
Present news bulletins, Q&A’s, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.
Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
In collaboration with colleagues, identify and develop local content that can be shared with other content teams in Regional & Local and across the ABC on multiple platforms.
About You
Are you passionate about local issues and have proficient editorial skills? You will also have a passion to source and create authentic content which represents the broad diversity of the Australian community. This exciting internal opportunity will allow you to use your tertiary qualifications in journalism or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in sourcing and analysing information and exercising reliable judgement. You will also have:
Demonstrated experience in live presentation and broadcast.
Demonstrated understanding of the issues that affect and interest the local audience.
