Journalist, Hull BBC Look North

No two days will be the same in this role, and you will work across a range of shifts covering all our output from breakfast through to our late bulletin and across weekends. You’ll work alongside correspondents, reporters and our technical team producing stories every day so you need to be editorially confident. This is a newsroom based role with a focus on production and planning but there will be opportunities sometimes to get out to report on your own stories. It’s essential that you understand what matters to the different communities which make up Look North’s audience – from towns and cities like Hull, Grimsby and Lincoln to rural areas in Lincolnshire and seaside communities along the East Coast. For this role you need to be both organised and really creative and have the confidence to put forward your ideas and views. You will be working as part of a team but you will also be expected to manage your own workload and work without a lot of supervision.
