We're looking for an experienced China markets reporter for our Chinese-language news service. Based in Hong Kong, you will join a team covering Chinese companies' onshore and offshore bonds and equities, distressed-debt situations and local government finances.

The role involves cultivating sources across Hong Kong's financial sector and digging into financial data to break news -- and using your story-telling skills to help Bloomberg users navigate the complexities of Chinese credit and equities markets. The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of China's rapidly changing financial markets and be a natural collaborator, able to work closely with Chinese-language teammates and editors as well as English-language colleagues.
We'll trust you to:

Closely track market conditions and exercise solid news judgement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Build sources at bond issuers, underwriters, investment managers and rating agencies in order to deliver scoops, especially on distressed firms, restructuring plans and regulatory changes
Be able to quickly write intraday stocks and bond market moves, spot and do useful reporting on the biggest themes of the day
Write with authority and insight about risks and opportunities in China's capital markets
Communicate and collaborate across bureaus and teams

You'll need to have:

A minimum of 2 recent years of experience in financial journalism or a financial institution
A solid understanding of Chinese markets and outstanding story-telling skills
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Fluency in both spoken and written Chinese plus the ability to communicate in English
Keen attention to detail
A strong work ethic and the ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately under tight deadline pressure
A collaborative team spirit and the drive to innovate and experiment
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
