Bloomberg news is seeking data journalists to combine data analysis with traditional reporting to unearth previously undiscovered stories.
You’ll be responsible for finding and analyzing data to add hard numbers to anecdotal reporting and uncover trends. You’ll work alone or in collaboration with beat reporters and graphics reporters to break news and provide insight.

WE’LL TRUST YOU TO:
Identify stories where data analysis can drive reporting
Creatively source data, by scraping, merging, developing sources, manual collection or other methods
Handle tricky data, including data that is large, unstructured, error-prone, or difficult to access or interpret
Turn your findings into headlines and sharp nut grafs
YOU’LL NEED:
A portfolio of data work demonstrating editorial judgment, rigor and ambition
A minimum of 3 years of experience extracting insight from data
Expertise in R or Python
Experience with Github
If you think you'd be a good fit to join us, submit an application and include a short list of links describing your experience using data to uncover patterns.
