Bloomberg LP has built a significant Media business spanning television, digital, magazine, radio and live event platforms across the globe. In the midst of a historic time in the Media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from QuickTake to New Economy.

We are looking for a video editor and producer to join Bloomberg Television’s newsroom on the Multimedia Desk in New York. This team is represented in the global newsroom with colleagues in Hong Kong, London and New York. This team works alongside the Global Newsdesk and Booking teams to highlight and promote upcoming interviews and package our best work for both a digital and linear audience. Most assignments are executed under a tight deadline, for fast distribution on various platforms.

Create promotional calendar with editorial team
Be proactive - pitch ideas, be creative, bring your expertise to the table and elevate our content
Understanding and excitement for financial news, politics and general news
Understanding of video and animation production workflows
Ensure design standards and brand guidelines are followed
Be organized and follow best practices for media storage and project organization
Be diligent in sourcing content and creating elements for your work, we have an extensive internal library of video and images as well as multiple sources to obtain content from.
Have the ability to take a project from concept to completion while working in a deadline-driven environment.
Deliver your content to multiple destinations, be familiar with various digital platforms and metadata requirements that are crucial for digital success
Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Be on top of industry trends in video, animation and promotional styles
Be flexible with working hours to accommodate global production schedules and news events
Work well under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment, be able to pivot and react as news events evolve.
Be highly motivated, accurate and detail oriented in your work
Have strong communication skills and collaborate across the newsroom
Have solid news judgment and editorial knowledge to be able to produce clips for digital and social platforms, including writing headlines and social language
Work with various programs throughout your shift including the Bloomberg Terminal, editing software, newsroom programs and distribution tools

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
3-5 years of newsroom experience
Proficient in all of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, AfterEffects)
Flexibility with hours/ability to work weekends and holidays
