Breaking News Reporter

The Watertown Daily Times is seeking an energetic breaking news reporter to join its award-winning editorial team in Watertown, N.Y. This position is a new job on our reporting staff and the reporter will have the opportunity to drive our breaking news coverage throughout the north country, while contributing to the daily news report and enterprise reporting. It is mandatory that the reporter have their own social media presence and a sense of urgency when it comes to news. If you like to wait around for a press release, or to hear the outcome of breaking news on a police scanner, then this job is not for you. The ability to communicate with reporters and editors back at our office in order to post news online quickly is a must. This reporter will also be responsible for helping maintain our NNY360 brand on social media, which is a team effort. This is a Tuesday-Saturday position and comes with the responsibility of maintaining NNY360 on Saturday.
