Sports Reporter

The Capital Journal in Pierre, South Dakota, is seeking a full-time sports reporter to cover local and regional teams. The positions start at $18 per hour including a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. A full benefits package including medical, dental, and retirement benefits is available. This newsroom focuses on community reporting, with coverage centered on local issues, news, and sports. The Capital Journal also offers an excellent opportunity for new journalists to gain experience and clips while learning the ins and outs of working in a newsroom.

A bachelor's degree in journalism is preferred. Experience with multimedia reporting is preferred. Candidates must submit writing samples with their resumes for consideration.
