Reporter / Editor

CBC is searching for a Reporter/Editor to join our Iqaluit team. As a Reporter/Editor, your primary objective is to perform reporting and editorial assignments related to the gathering, writing and presentation of program material for radio, television and online media. The successful candidate for this position will focus primarily on reporting and producing news content for our website, CBC.ca/North. They will also be expected to produce program material for radio and television platforms. You will develop and maintain contact with a variety of sources, and work in close co-operation with your program unit. You demonstrate success in your role by gathering and reporting information from various sources, analyzing the facts and information gathered, drawing conclusions or raising issues requiring further investigation, and contributing ideas, written scripts, and program content. You will also, as required, critically edit material written by others, present information and/or analysis on air in a variety of formats, and perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth functioning of the newsroom, program unit or station. You are a strong writer with a flexible schedule and are capable of good on-air performance.
