What you will be doing in this role:
The Communications Specialist supports institutional development, healthy equity and community engagement efforts by handling a variety of different projects. In collaboration with leadership and other partners, the Communications Specialist project manages and executes communication strategies including: manages all traffic and evaluates requests from internal clients, creates detailed timelines of deliverables and identifies and assigns the correct collaborators to a project. Provides support in writing content, editing and/or design. Contributes content to communication materials for donor stewardship, solicitation, community partners and events. Acts as a liaison with the Marketing and Communications team, collaborates cross-functionally with internal and external (donors, volunteers, board members, patients and members of the community) partners to meet department and organizational objectives. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages projects from development to completion; creates project production schedules and timelines; manages project budgets and invoices, including check requests and invoice payments, as necessary. When applicable, writes, edits, and produces content for internal and external customers to support specific programs, projects, and events.
Supports and collaborates on communication plans; coordinates the design and production of communication materials, collaterals, proposals, reports, stewardship emails, solicitation materials, press releases, emails and other deliverables.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with cross-functional partners to effectively plan and execute appropriate communication support for development, community engagement and health equity programs.
Creates and documents plans that ensure all necessary preparation, execution tasks and dependencies are identified and included. Ensures that necessary resources and skills are allocated for project success. Assesses needs, evaluates solutions, makes recommendations, and escalates to senior leaders/key partners, if needed.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public relations, media relations or another relevant major is required.
A minimum of three years' experience writing, editing, delivering in-depth content, project management or related communications experience required.
