Compensation Range: $90,000 - 95,000 per year
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our client's team as the Manager of Public Affairs and Communications and report directly to the Director of Public Affairs & Communications.
As the Manager of Public Affairs and Communications, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day execution of our client's comprehensive communications strategy. The ideal candidate has an excellent background in communications and project management, with a solid understanding of the current media landscape.
Responsibilities:
Support public affairs and communications operation by writing and editing high-quality internal and external communications materials, including traditional media correspondence, press releases, statements, op-eds, design copy, and web and social media content.
Assist with social/digital engagement by reviewing the association's social media strategy and helping the public affairs & communications team evolve it into the future.
Repackage and repurpose content for a variety of industry and external audiences.
Monitor media and compile daily news summaries for topics relevant to the company.
Draft media summaries for key moments and events.
Identify trends in traditional and social media conversations and help leverage them as opportunities to insert brand messaging.
Execute traditional and digital media campaigns around key moments/events.
Help build relationships with and position the company as a strategic partner with media organizations, industry audiences, colleague organizations and other external audiences.
Maintain a working knowledge of issues and subjects important to the brand.
Collaborate enthusiastically across disciplines within the association to develop and bring to life unique content that generates action and engagement in traditional and social media.
Contribute to the implementation of public affairs and communications projects and programs.
Serve as an association spokesperson as needed.

Qualifications:
Experience level: Manager
Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field.
5 years of work experience; Capitol Hill / campaign / agency experience helpful.
Familiarity with media, and a background in media relations; social media experience helpful.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management skills.
Exceptional writing and editing skillset.
Experience as an on the record spokesperson a bonus.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
High level of familiarity with AP Style.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and thrive in a high-performance culture.
