Compensation Range: $80,000 - 90,000 per year
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Writer/ Editor to join our client's communications team!
In this role, you will play a crucial part in crafting compelling written content that reflects the brand and resonates with target audiences. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from blog posts and articles to marketing materials and more. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented, and adaptable professional who can turn ideas into polished, reader-friendly content.
Responsibilities:
Plan, research, write and edit content on a wide range of subjects for use in print and online materials.
Create content to market membership in the association and to communicate the association's value proposition, as well as to promote events and programs.
Work closely with internal and external Expo teams to produce tailored content designed to promote participation and engagement in the trade show.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of an association-wide editorial calendar.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of a year-round content marketing calendar and materials to engage the confectionery retail community.
Maintain a working knowledge of issues, subjects and language important to the brand's target audiences in order to develop effective and impactful content.
Contribute to social media content creation in collaboration with internal and external teams, including occasionally posting and monitoring some social content developed for industry audiences.
Package and reposition content for a variety of industry and external audiences.
Work with staff writers to contribute association content and proofread the publication.
Edit documents covering a wide range of topics and styles, including press releases, comments submitted to government agencies, membership materials, newsletters, event collateral, etc.
Work with marketing team to craft subject lines, headlines and other content to increase open and click-through rates and increase engagement.
Stay up-to-date on best practices in print and digital content creation, as well as services and tools that can assist in the creation or dissemination of content.
Collaborate enthusiastically with different departments and interest areas within the association to develop and bring to life unique content that generates actions and engagement.
Offer new, creative ideas for enterprise-wide content.
Perform other editorial and non-editorial duties in an effort to elevate the brand.
Qualifications:
Experience level: Experienced
Bachelor's degree in English, writing, journalism or related field.
5-7 years of work experience; trade/membership association experience helpful.
Exemplary writing/editing skills and a proven track record of creating high-quality, creative and engaging content across multiple formats.
Solid background in marketing, or in writing content to generate revenue or action.
High level of familiarity with AP Style.
Working knowledge of best practices in content creation, and desire to stay up-to-date on new tools and resources.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and project management skills.
