Community Issues Reporter

The San Joaquin Valley is ripe with stories for an enterprising community-issues reporter – one who is eager to follow key issues affecting life in the region. A few examples include broad topics such as Health (air pollution, lack of access to medical services); Environment (failing water systems, contamination of soil, increased risks of wildfire, the impact of climate change); Housing (population growth and socio-economic changes raising costs of housing); Economy (shifts occurring in agriculture and the business sector); Education (the challenges of raising the level of education in the Valley and of reaching students historically marginalized). This text-based reporter will have a knack for telling stories centered on people who are impacted by these issues as well as those who are working to address the Valley’s many challenges.
