New Posted 21 December 2021 | Chattanooga, Tennessee | Chattanooga Times Free Press

The Chattanooga Times Free Press is looking for a smart, aggressive journalist to cover education. We're seeking a reporter who can look past the agenda and process. We don’t just want routine coverage. We want you to be versatile enough to produce essential accountability reporting, hard-hitting breaking news and insightful profiles and trend stories that explain the impact of education policy on children, families and the economic health of the community. We need someone to come to this job with a strong work ethic and lots of creativity. You must be a resourceful and persistent reporter who can develop sources, working collaboratively across the newsroom. You must be able to work in a digital-first environment with the ability to tweet and shoot video from news events, obtain and analyze data and engage readers intelligently before and after a story publishes. The Times Free Press is a privately owned, mid-sized newspaper that circulates in counties in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. For seven of the past eight years, the Times Free Press has been the most decorated paper in the state press association contest and won the top award. The paper has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize three times since 2013.
