Magazine/Staff Writer

The Chattanooga Times Free Press is looking for an experienced journalist to join our team as editor of Edge magazine, a glossy monthly publication that tells the story of the city’s thriving business community. This editor will plan each issue of Edge, report and write some stories, work with other staff and freelance writers, and coordinate with the magazine designer. They will also be responsible for a related newsletter and social media promotion of the work of the magazine. In addition, this role requires reporting and writing some stories for the newspaper’s business section in coordination with the business editor. The right candidate will have stellar writing and editing skills, and be organized and deadline-driven. They will oversee editorial workflow — developing and assigning stories, setting and enforcing deadlines, and guiding content through the production process. =Strong beat-building skills are also essential to success in this role, which requires knowledge of the business landscape and economy.
