The Opportunity
The Chicago Sun-Times is looking to hire a transportation reporter to provide comprehensive coverage of Chicago-area mass transit, aviation and highway systems, closely following the governmental agencies and politicians responsible for local transportation systems. The reporter will write for the consumer, commuter and taxpayer with a focus on everything from service and security to contracting and policy. Breaking news will also be part of the beat at times. Following elected and appointed governing boards is part of the job, as is strong, engaging enterprise reporting, and an understanding of Chicago as a national transportation hub.
This is a role that will provide you with a chance to be part of an iconic and trusted brand and help build the future of local news.
