Job Summary: Versatile breaking news journalist who can juggle assignments with executing compelling enterprise for the metro desk.
What you will do: Cover breaking news and general assignment work for the metro desk and identify longer-term enterprise stories. Shifts may include afternoons, evenings and potentially some weekend work.
What you will bring: The successful applicant has a track record of executing breaking stories on a tight deadline that demonstrate crisp writing, accuracy, commitment to fair play and the ability to tell stories about people that go beyond the statistics. We also place high value on insightful reporting and a commitment to serving the public good by exposing inequities and holding the powerful to account. We are looking for a journalist who is collaborative, creative, collegial, high energy and dogged in pursuit of the story. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
