Cisco Global Communications is looking for a public relations professional to join the Global Corporate Affairs PR team to support our Chief Sustainability Officer in developing and executing strategic communications plans that drive market awareness for Cisco’s sustainability strategy.
Cisco's holistic approach to environmental sustainability includes how we operate our business, how we engage with suppliers, and how we help customers and communities to reduce their environmental impacts. Through Cisco's next-generation environmental sustainability strategy, we are striving to connect a regenerative future with ambitious company goals such setting a science-based target to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2040 and 100% of new products and packaging will incorporate circular design principles by 2025.
We are seeking an experienced PR professional who enjoys working with media, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong ability to multi-task, problem-solve and write. Open communication and a team-oriented approach are critical as we will rely on you to scale with our international and integrated Communications team colleagues. The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about sustainability, corporate PR, and building a better world through impactful storytelling.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Cisco’s Chief Sustainability Officer in developing and executing communications plans that drive market awareness for Cisco’s sustainability strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Meet with key internal stakeholders to source and strategize sustainability storylines, innovations, and customer momentum – then develop and execute integrated, multi-channel communications plans.
Work closely with our corporate, tech, and Global Communications partners domestically and internationally to help manage and scale sustainability stories for Cisco.
Formulate compelling PR narratives around key topics of sustainability through storytelling, messaging, and content development.
Drive innovative, proactive media campaigns, and feature storytelling across tech and business media.
Implement innovative ways to approach Cisco events and support multi-channel program areas.
Who You’ll Work With
Global Communications is a team of more than 120 world class and award-winning communications professionals. The team is responsible for leading Cisco's corporate and technology PR programs, as well as crafting and delivering clear and compelling narratives that grab the attention of media and influencers. We are also home to Analyst Relations, International Relations, Employee Communications, Communications Intelligence, and Digital Communications. You will partner with a virtual team of communicators worldwide who are passionate about sustainability and Cisco. You will report to the Director of Global Public Affairs and Global Corporate Affairs PR on the Cisco PR team.
Who You Are
You will be an ambassador for the Cisco brand. You possess a unique combination of PR, media relations, and communications skills with excellent executive presence, a steadfast curiosity for finding a story (wherever it may be hiding), and of course the skills for storytelling across multiple communication channels and media.
You can clearly communicate and present sophisticated topics and use your presentation and relationship development skills to reach, engage, and communicate with a variety of audiences. You can up-level technical speak into compelling narratives. You have experience working on large or global teams and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes. You are an agile self-starter who thrives collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing or related field
3+ years of experience in a corporate or agency Public Relations role
Experience in, and a passion for, sustainability and corporate PR
Desired Qualifications:
Strong media relationships (experience in both B2B and B2C preferred)
Experience establishing partnerships and collaborating with senior executives, as well as the broader communications and marketing functions.
Experience effectively collaborating for success in a multi-layered organization across functions and geographies
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
Strong writing and project management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
