Are you a top-tier editorial professional with a passion for crafting engaging content that resonates with both audiences and clients? We're on the lookout for a dynamic Managing Editor to spearhead our branded content team. In this role, you'll lead the team in planning, editing, and writing captivating content. You'll develop compelling headlines that meet the diverse needs of our readership and client base. This position will also play a pivotal role in guiding the publication of content to empower readers in their personal finance journeys and aiding clients in their business growth. This position works closely with the Monetize team to hit our revenue goals and reports directly to the Director of Editorial Strategy.
The Impact You Will Make
Enhance client relationships by suggesting and implementing proactive content strategies backed by analytics and data
Develop a strong understanding of our business model, including the functions and revenue goals of other teams and platforms
Optimize content using platform best practices to boost revenue
Think creatively to develop new ways and alternate platforms to present branded content
Develop branded content ideas and approaches that resonate with readers, such as by showing an offer’s unique value, ease of use, trustworthiness, or using the element of surprise
Edit branded and sponsored content in a useful and engaging way that leads to strong click-through rates
Collaborate effectively by engaging in a productive give-and-take with writers, resulting in stories that maintain voice
Apply insights from revenue and engagement analytics to improve conversion rates
Coordinate content and promotion with colleagues while contributing to the platform and product strategies
May undertake writing projects and additional content-related initiatives
What You Bring
5+ years of professional media editing experience (bonus if paid media product experience)
Advanced understanding of performance marketing and branded/sponsored content strategies
Proficiency in Google Analytics and/or other analytics platforms
Familiarity with AP style
Proven leadership skills that foster company culture and values within the team. Leads by example in everyday decision-making by being fearless, innovative, respectful, selfless and accountable
Experience tracking and communicating team performance results to senior leadership
Strong influencing skills and ability to rally others around ideas
