As a member of the CNBC.com copy desk, the copy editor is the last line of defense to ensure that our stories are of the highest quality possible. Whether it’s a long feature or short breaking news bulletin, we will look to the copy editor to ensure our stories are free of errors and typos and have proper context, balance, consistency and clarity. The copy editor plays an essential part in producing compelling coverage that is helping to expand our growing readership. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: reading stories quickly and thoroughly, sometimes before they are published, sometimes afterward. The copy editor must be able to work quickly and under pressure, confident that our stories meet the highest standards.
