You’ll be working to produce content for our platforms that helps our audiences while also growing our reach on the Internet.
What You'll Do
Proactively develop, execute, own and track social strategies for multiple initiatives, including editorial and commercial pursuits.
Coordinate with CNET’s social, editorial and video teams to develop and execute social content creation processes. Combining judgment with signals from social platforms and internal tools, you’ll make recommendations for key teams to act upon.
Work with the social and video teams posting, creating and growing CNET’s presence on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and beyond.
Produce and identify new growth areas on social platforms that continue to support and educate our audience through the use of analytics and growth-hacking.
Communicate effectively the nuances and evolving landscape of social media and our strategies to key stakeholders from senior leadership to sales to editorial partners.
Help manage the day-to-day activity and growth on key platforms, whether it’s queuing up posts to keep a feed active through an afternoon, optimizing video posts and gauging the efficacy of titles or engaging with our audience to help identify our next successful franchise.
Engage directly with audiences across channels to further CNET’s mission to answer reader questions and provide expert advice.
What We're Looking For
4-5 years of experience in social media and marketing or media related fields like journalism.
A candidate who can be independent, flexible and change course quickly depending on what comes out of the tech, and social media, world.
A candidate who’s deeply interested in the present and future of social media. We’re looking for someone who is interested in learning more about social strategy and development through collaboration, analytics and general interest.
An understanding of the Social Media internal analytics landscape and tools like Sprout Social, Social Flow, Meta Business Suite, Looker, CrowdTangle and Google Trends.
Analytical thinking, but with an openness to listen to audience responses and keep CNET’s mission top of mind when making decisions.
Creativity, from writing copy to designing graphics to strategies on platforms, but also when approaching more open-ended challenges.
A team player who is comfortable providing and receiving actionable feedback from stakeholders within and beyond their immediate team.
CNET is a legacy tech brand but we cover topics such as personal finance, health & wellness and energy. We’re looking for someone who has a familiarity in these topics but more importantly, a willingness to learn about topics within CNET’s domain.
