The Cody Enterprise, an award-winning twice-weekly newspaper serving the vibrant community of Cody, Wyoming, is seeking an editor.

As the editor of the Cody Enterprise, you will play a crucial role in shaping the content and direction of our publication. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire editorial process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, relevant and compelling stories that resonate with our local audience. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for journalism, strong editorial instincts, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of reporters, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Develop and execute the editorial calendar, strategizing content coverage to reflect local events, issues and community interests.
Review, edit and fact-check articles to ensure accuracy and proper grammar.
Stay abreast of local and regional news to identify potential story ideas and breaking news coverage opportunities.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support revenue-generating initiatives.
Engage with the community to build relationships, understand readers' preferences and maintain the newspaper's reputation as a trustworthy news source.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
Proven experience in an editorial leadership role, ideally with a newspaper or digital news outlet.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
Knowledge of AP style and journalistic ethics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead, mentor and inspire a diverse team.
