Deputy Director-Public Affairs

The Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia Universitys School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) is searching for a Deputy Director of Public Affairs. The Deputy Director of Public Affairs will be responsible for end-to-end communications strategy and execution for CGEPs Founding Director, as well as other executive-level engagements at the Center.

Reporting to the Senior Director for Communications and Policy Strategy, this role will develop and execute communications strategy for the Founding Directors thought leadership and external initiatives. This includes managing messaging, speechwriting, media relations, social media, op-eds and blogs, and coordinating public appearances at international and domestic conferences and other events. The Deputy Director will be expected to align and coordinate plans with other members of the communications team, CGEPs leadership team, the Development team and Founding Directors Office and other key offices to ensure that the Founding Directors priorities and initiatives are advanced across internal and external stakeholder groups.
