Communications Associate (Telecommute)

You’re a strong writer and fundraiser who is passionate about progressive politics and avidly follows the news and social media responses to it. You have a proven track record of producing high-volume, high-quality fundraising and social media copy to meet deadlines. You’re comfortable turning around engaging, long and short-form content on a variety of topics. You’re capable of writing for different audiences, and are interested in how the language you use can shape the actions that readers take. You have broad familiarity with a wide range of topics including national politics, activist movements in the U.S., judicial processes, U.S. foreign policy, and more. You are deeply devoted to the values of racial, economic, social, environmental and disability justice, as well as intersectional feminism, anti-imperialism, prison abolition and anti-colonialism. You are looking to make a commitment to playing an integral role in increasing the impact of independent, nonprofit news in an increasingly corporate media landscape and you’re ready to use your skills to further Truthout’s mission.
