Dewberry is currently seeking a Communications Intern to join the corporate communications team in Fairfax, VA for Summer 2024.

This position offers exposure to the multiple functions of an in-house communications department that manages the internal communications, change management, media relations, and marketing communications function of the company. Projects performed can vary day-to-day. Flexibility, organization, attention to detail, and excellent time management are expected.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining corporate website.
Assist corporate communications in writing content for press releases, social media content, intranet content, and blogs.
Support communications functions, including videos, announcements, and brochures.

Education

Required Skills & Required Experience

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, or equivalent degree.

Experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of AP Style and English grammar.
Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe InDesign, Premier, and Photoshop, a plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Self-starter; enjoys and is able to work under minimal supervision, yet collaboratively with multiple disciplines and offices.
Able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and excellent quality control.
