About the role

A rare and exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Communications team has become available. The Communications Specialist is responsible for helping to position TAFE NSW with media, employees, industry, and communities using contemporary communications techniques. With a focus on strategic communications, you will help build our brand through the power of storytelling.

About You

To be successful in this role you will come from either an internal or external communications background. You’re a natural at project management, super organised, and solution-focused. You must be a clear communicator and have exceptional stakeholder management skills.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Supporting the implementation of communications plans that are aligned with the TAFE NSW Strategic and Operational Plans, and the Corporate Communications Strategy
Contributing to communications project teams by producing high-quality written materials including media releases and alerts, interview briefs, statements, social media posts, intranet content, newsletter copy, and speeches
Developing key messages, selecting appropriate campaign tactics
Monitoring media, social media, and internal feedback channels
Working closely with internal stakeholders to identify and shape PR opportunities
You will be working to support the technology and product portfolios
