The Role

This is a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and meticulously-organised Associate Beauty & Wellness Writer to join the award-winning British Vogue beauty team. The successful candidate will be passionate about beauty and wellness and have a flair for both idea generation and writing, with a view to contributing daily to Vogue’s website and print editions. They will have previous experience within the beauty industry, be it editorial-side or brand-side, and excellent relationships within.

They will also support the team in day-to-day administrative tasks such as product call-ins, credits, research and keeping our world-famous beauty cupboard organised. Working as part of an increasingly commercially minded department, the role requires an active participant in commercial content idea generation, as well as a willing contributor to any resulting projects.

First-class organisational skills, fantastic attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure and deadlines are also essential.

The Team

We are a team of three in London working very closely with our global Vogue beauty counterparts.

What will you be doing?

Ensuring British Vogue’s positioning as a beauty and wellness authority by contributing to all relevant content pillars.

Ideation - daily contribution and pitching of ideas in morning meetings and planned content meetings, plus forward planning for key editorial themes.

Writing - beauty news, reports, evergreens, features and viewpoints, with a focus on beauty, health, wellbeing and fitness.

Publishing - uploading all online content using the CMS and working with the Audience Development team on optimising digital stories for SEO

Filming - participating in editorial franchises for British Vogue’s social platforms (and commercial franchises where relevant)

Events - attending Vogue beauty events such as 5 Days of Beauty and acting as a British Vogue ambassador at press events with key advertisers.

Organisation - maintaining call-ins, credits and admin for the beauty team.

Supporting the beauty department in the day-to-day.

Who you are:

You will have a passion for good journalism, writing and generating ideas for stand out content.

You will have a strong instinct of how a story translates across print, social video and web with storytelling imagery.

You will have previous writing experience, preferably from a digital background.

You will have previous experience in the beauty industry either print or online.

You will have strong relationships with beauty brands across the industry.

You will be a responsible brand ambassador.

You will be commercially-minded.

You will have a good eye for visuals and a strong attention to detail.

You will have excellent time-keeping skills and general organisation.

You will be experienced at supporting a fast-paced team in a pressured environment.
