CIPFA’s busy communications and content team is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join the team on a temporary basis, to cover maternity leave.

The content editor will play an important part in ensuring CIPFA’s output is of a consistently high quality by creating, editing and organising content across various communication channels. Key responsibilities of the role include proofreading CIPFA publications, including long-form technical content and thought leadership reports, and supporting content development and updates on our TISonline site. This involves working closely with policy experts and other authors to manage production processes and implement CIPFA’s house style.

For the right candidate there is also the opportunity to collate and edit our monthly newsletter for CIPFA’s members, as well as contributing content to CIPFA’s Sharepoint-based intranet . Candidates will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to meet deadlines, and a collaborative and agile approach. They must have strong editing experience, ideally with experience using content management systems, and content marketing platforms and should be comfortable working with complex information, as well as drafting softer copy. An inquiring mind and interest in learning about the provision and management of public services would be a distinct advantage.

Key duties of the content editor include:

reviewing and editing content for CIPFA, ensuring it is accurate, up to date, engaging and compliant with brand guidelines #
writing and shaping new content where necessary, ensuring relevance to audience and appropriate tone
preparing content for online publication and upload to website
compiling and editing e-newsletters and briefings.

Salary: £31,000 – £36,250 per annum, depending on experience
