Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced content editor to collaborate closely with the product team on refining the emerging Discover experience within Perplexity products. Discover is evolving into a go-to destination for individuals eager to learn new things daily, spanning diverse topics and relevant events worldwide. The primary goal of Discover is to cultivate curiosity.
As a Content Editor, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
Content Selection: Curate and select high-quality news and general interest content to be included in our editorial collections, ensuring that they align with our brand and meet our audience's interests and needs.
Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest news trends, emerging topics, and general interest subjects. Utilize your knowledge of newsroom practices and magazine content selection techniques to identify relevant content.
Content Evaluation: Assess the accuracy, credibility, and quality of selected content to maintain the highest editorial standards.
Content Tagging: Appropriately tag and categorize curated content.
Collaboration: Work closely with the product team to align content selections with overall editorial strategies and goals.
Content Scheduling: Assist in developing content schedules and ensuring timely delivery of selected content.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on published content to ensure it meets editorial standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate this position should possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in newsrooms, magazines, or editorial environments, with a strong understanding of content selection and editorial processes.
Exceptional news judgment and the ability to identify relevant and engaging news and general interest stories.
Strong research skills.
