South Carolina Reporter

Courthouse News Service, a California-based news service, is seeking a reporter to cover federal and state courts in South Carolina. A legal background is not required, but demonstrated interest and ability in writing or journalism is necessary. The job will entail going to the Columbia Circuit and Federal courthouses every weekday afternoon to review and summarize new civil complaints and covering other area county courts online. The reporter is also expected to pitch and write stories about South Carolina politics and government. Competitive pay is offered for about 40 hours per week, and benefits are available.
