The Investigative Reporter is a journalist with experience in public-interest reporting who will work directly with the Investigations Editor and with the support of other newsroom staff to produce accountability reporting on workplace safety and oversight throughout the state of Washington. This reporter will investigate working conditions across a wide variety of occupations, government oversight procedures and labor organizing efforts. The Investigative Reporter will play an essential role in explaining to Crosscut’s audience how the pandemic and other factors have reshaped many workplaces, from agriculture to health care to the tech industry. The reporter will also serve a watchdog function, identifying employee abuse, safety concerns or oversight failures.
