Associate Editor

We’re looking for an Associate Editor to support the growth of our data-driven reporting for our U.S.-based members. In this role, the editor will work with internal stakeholders across data science, research, and communications to plan data-backed coverage related to economic and workplace trends. The candidate should feel comfortable analyzing data to spot trends and helping our members understand that data through their reporting.

Responsibilities

Report, write, and edit weekly coverage of data-driven topics that impact professionals at various levels
Build distribution tactics by having an understanding of content distribution, including writing concise and engaging copy for social and notifications
Work with internal data science, research, and comms teams to spot trends and plan content calendar
Understanding benchmark success metrics to evaluate project performance
Develop relationships with data experts and members who can add their voice to our coverage
Identify emerging opportunities and experiment with new ways to share and tell stories that fit our professional audience

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a news or media environment (either full-time, contract, or freelance)
1+ years of experience in an editorial role (reporting and writing)

Preferred Qualifications

Comfortable with data
Organized and deadline-driven
A strategic approach with a knack for testing and iterating to find out what works
Willingness to pitch in where needed to achieve the goals of a small team
Passion for our organization and editorial’s goal of bringing professionals the news and insights they need
Excited to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
