We are seeking a dynamic US Deputy Head of Social Video to join our video team in the Daily Mail’s New York newsroom. This key role will oversee a team of talented video producers, steering the creation of video content for social platforms with a focus on TikTok and Facebook.

The Social Video team is responsible for more than 800 million views per month driving follower growth and revenue. As a creative leader in New York City, your role is to support a team of video producers, cultivating a culture of teamwork and development while tackling the biggest trending news stories from around the world.

A typical day begins by connecting with colleagues in the Mail’s global newsrooms before briefing your team on the day’s trending content. Throughout the day, you will be on hand to provide constructive feedback in order to boost reach, engagement and revenue. Regular check-ins and development sessions are encouraged and special projects are expected.

As part of our global team, your insights, creativity, and understanding of what people are talking about will shape our approach to social video on new and emerging video platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify trending topics and stories as highly-engaging video content with a team of producers
Assign videos and projects, ensuring a balanced workload among the team while maintaining oversight of all video content.
Ensure that content is produced in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines without compromising quality or creativity.
Provide constructive feedback to a team of producers using your wealth of experience, ensuring content matches the tone of voice of its respective platform.
Collect and analyze data to draw insights that can be integrated into everyday editorial decisions
Refine and improve production processes to increase efficiency and output without sacrificing storytelling quality.
Work closely with stakeholders across the company to build relationships and ensure incoming content from outside your team is cohesive with the strategy for your platforms.
Encourage a culture of excellence by clearly communicating goals, and motivating the team
